Movies I need to add to my collection - part 2!

Just like "Wall Street 2", this is a sequel that has been in the works for a long time... I blogged on Novemsies the 4th on what movies I need to get from this cheap ass used DVD store off Butterfield Road...

Butterfield Road? YES!!!

From that beautiful store, I've been able to secure gems like "Grumpy Old Men", "Boiler Room", "2012" and "European Vacation"... now is the time to add mas peliculas... like...

For those of you not familiar with "Charlie Bartlett", it is one of the best high school movies I have ever seen... Charlie Bartlett fashions himself as a modern day "Ferris Bueller", obviously Ferris is a classic, but Bartlett isn't far off... this movie is awesome and I'm pretty sure I was the only person who saw it in theaters... and Robert Downey Jr. is soooooooooo epic as the alcoholic principal... does anyone play drugged out better than RDJ? That would be no... and Kat Dennings has big juggs...

Here are the rest of the gems that need to be lured into Kyle's Klassic Kollection..."oh KKK? THAT'S NOT GOOD!" - Krusty the Klown
  • Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - maybe it's just because it's on TV right now, but the soundtrack is great... maybe I should just get the soundtrack... nope, again, Kat Dennings magumbos... def getting the movie...
  • The Program - one of the best football movies ever made...
  • Wonder Boys - should have gotten another Oscar for Michael Douglas... his best non-Gekko role...
  • Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season - oh wait, that's not real, but it should be...
  • The Net - early Sandra Bullock... not "Demolition Man" early, but pretty damn early... also, Dennis Miller in a serious role = sign me up! Charlie Bixby was my 2nd fav Winslow High teacher ever...
  • Dirty Work - unreal funny...
  • Dragnet - Aykroyd + Hanks = You can't put it in my collection.... YES!!!
There are more... but... Packers/Eagles is starting... I'm hoping Aaron Rodgers blows both of his knees out... OUCH!

BEARSE!!!

The Nick Folk Chronicles

There is a man, a certain man, a man whose grace and handsome face are known across the land!

You know his name...

It's Mr. Folk!

Why he's worth ten times what he earns! It's Nick Folk!

NF - IT'S MR. FOLK!

To friends he's known as Nick but to you it's Mr. Folk! Fo-fo-fo-fo-fo-folk! FOLK!

Yep, sick Simpsons drop right there with a few tweaks here and there...

Due to my cold and an obscene amount of Nyquil... I missed this beauty...

So far the Ghostwriter for Joe Webb is spot on with his Wild Card picks... pretty clever! Seahawks and Jets... two teams that are sure to lose to da Bearse this playoff season... and you heard it here... daa Jetse are going to beat the Pats next week... and yes, I am giving the Jets the wonderful honor of the extra 'e' after the title, like "BearsE"... it serves as a badge of distinction...

Here's all you need to know about Nick Folk... homeboy gets up in the morning, downs a bowl of Golden Grahams, drives his DeLorean to the game, and knocks the stupid Colts out of the playoffs... word on the street is the game was almost blacked out in Indy because they couldn't sell out the game... pathetic fanbase... even the Ozzie Guillen Roast sold out in less than an hour... sh*t, the Cubs CONVENTION sold out in 24 minutes a year ago...

In conclusion... Colts suck... Peyton left too much time on the clock and Sanchez did his thing... see, you can stop Sanchez easily late in the game (like da Bearse did) as long as your defense isn't horrific... but the Colts have lots of injuries? Injuries Sminjuries... find someone new, roid him up and get out there!

Here is the best anti-Peyton video of all time...

The Job Webb Chronicles - Conclusion!

I'm watching the golf channel right now waiting for Wild Card weekend to start... and I keep thinking, "You know who would absolutely dominate on the PGA Tour? JOE WEBB!"

Then I flipped through the channels and saw a commercial for Denzel's "Unstoppable", which was an awesome movie... and I couldn't help but think if Joe Webb were in the movie... he woulda just jogged and chased it down and stopped it no problem...

I think if we elected Joe Webb to be our President, we'd all be rich as shit...

Now I just popped in a movie, "Major League: Back to the Minors"... by all accounts, a terrible film, even though I kinda like it... however, I can't help but think if Joe Webb directed the picture, it woulda won double digit Oscars, including Best Actor in a Leading Role - Scott Bakula...

Joe Webb's favorite band is "Jesse and the Rippers"...

Joe Webb knew that Bruce Willis was a ghost before M. Night Shyamalan even wrote "The Sixth Sense"...

Joe Webb offered to host "SNL", but Lorne Michaels declined because he was afraid Joe Webb would be too funny...

Joe Webb was able to fix Rube Baker's throwing problems by threating to rip off his man sack if he couldn't figure out how to throw the ball back to the pitcher...

Joe Webb once broadcasted a football game he was playing in... put a microphone in his helmet... threw 5 TD's, won the game and a Communicator Award...

Joe Webb figured out the last number of Pi and won't tell anyone...

FINALLY

Joe Webb loves the Jets, Eagles, Seahawks and Chiefs this weekend...

And thus, we have "The Joe Webb Chronicles"... maybe we'll hear more about him someday... in the meantime, Joe Cool is just gonna keep doing his thing... in Joe Webb's World, everyday is a Saturday baby!

Sick just in time for the weekend... D'OH!

Crazy sore throat this weekend... prolly won't leave the house... maybe it's not soo bad though... I mean, there is plenty of football to watch this weekend... which is straight up ACE

How do I put this delicately? Ummmm... J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!

If the Jets and the Eagles win this weekend, well, that would just be the best thing for everyone involved... New York needs a win since the Giants went bye bye, and Philly needs a win because the city is still down from Pauly losing all of Rocky's money in that crooked Power of Attorney ordeal in Rocky V...

Plus, I hear the Packers just signed a new player...

SIDENOTE - Watching ABC Family right now and "Sky High" might be the worst movie I have ever seen... holy cow it's bad... ok not "Twilight" bad, but close!

I'm being seriously though, I don't think I will accomplish much this weekend now that I feel like the floor of a taxi cab... I'm developing a checklist of accomplishable things:
  • Blog a few times... mmmmkay
  • Watch minimum of 6 football games... of course
  • Watch at least 10 "Man v. Food" episodes... obviously
  • Attempt to drink away my sore throat... could be a good idea... might attack this cold with a heavy dose of cough drops and Sammy Adams... tubular
  • Never take off my Uggs
  • Become the biggest overnight Eagles fan? No doubt... Green Bay sucks and the fact that they have a football team is like if Rockford had an NFL team... it boggles the mind
I'm sure there might be more, but I can't think of it right now... I'm still watching "Sky High" and I'm rapidly losing brain cells... fml

Wild Card weekend calls for classic "Simpsons Shorts - Football"... just like Jamie Lee Curtis topless in "Trading Places", it is a sight to see... :16 seconds into the video it gets real dicey real quick!

Biff's Question Song

I took some flack a few months back for listing Biff Tannen as the most overrated villain of all time... no big deal... I was right, tho... if you need a refresher... here was THE LIST!

Anyweezer... my reasoning for the choice was pretty clear... to be a great villain, you need to actually be able to call on some worthwhile skills... stupidity is not a skill... thus, overrated... and don't get me wrong, I LOVE all 3 "BTTF" flicks... great flicks!

Moving right along... there is one skill that Biff Tannen never flaunted in the movies, and that is his singer/songwriting ability... if Tommy F. Wilson brings his comedy act to your town, it is a must see... his "Question Song" is the one of the most epic songs to come out of Hill Valley since The Pinheads absolutely bombed on stage in front of Huey Lewis for being "too darn loud"... Marvin Berry comes close to Biff's vocal talents... close...

Am I right or am I right? Right, right, right! BING! Ned Ryerson ftw

Can't sleep? Pop in these movies and sleepsauce... boom

I ran this idea by Andrew McCarthy and Judd Nelson and they wanted to make sure that I mentioned this before you see this list - I am NOT saying these movies are boring! I am simplying saying that these films that don't require, well, your full attention to view... they aren't visual masterpieces, so you can simply lay down, close your eyes and let the movie send you to slumberland... and believe me, if you do, you will have crazy awesome dreams about 1985 Demi Moore... whoa!

Here we have one of the most underrated 80's flicks... "St. Elmo's Fire" is the brat pack movie that never gets the attention it deserves... great soundtrack too... I have watched this movie countless times while awake, but when I'm falling asleep, I'm usually zonked out by the time Rob Lowe is arrested a few minutes into the movie... just like a flawless performance in "Street Fighter 2"... PERFECT!

Here are some other gems:
  • "My Girl" - just make sure you fall asleep before Thomas Jay dies...
  • "Multiplicity" - Harold Ramis directing + 4 Michael Keatons = legendary
  • "The Great Outdoors" - not gonna lie, I love this movie and no matter how tired I am, I can usually last at least 45 minutes, but always fall asleep before John Candy takes down the 96er...
  • "Benny and Joon" - ok this movie is actually kinda boring, but I like it... it was the launching pad for the epic song "500 Miles" by The Proclaimers, and it teaches you how to make grilled cheeses sandwiches with an iron... soooo, yup...
  • "Clerks" - this movie has unlimited repeatability... "Clerks 2" is just as good...
  • "Hoosiers" - maybe the greatest sports movie of all time... I only say that because I don't really consider "Rocky" to be a sports movie as much as it is a love story... brilliant soundtrack
  • "Glory" - another brilliant soundtrack... best war movie of all time IMO
There are more, but, I'm lazy as a daisy and just don't feel like posting more... Homer says, "Can't someone else do it?"

Goodnight Muncie!

Bears Recap - the "Big Bear and the Bojo Brothers" made Green Bay our BITCH edition

Da Bearse didn't even bother to show up to this game... a good team would have massacred The Beloved...

But...

And that's the fact, Jack!

I looked at the 2-deep for next weeks Packers/Eagles matchup, and unfortunately for Green Bay, they don't have Smokin' Joe Webb starting at QB... which means, just like Neal Page at the St. Louis Marathon, the Packers are f*cked!

In fact, I was able to get my hands on the tape of a phone call that Andy Reid made to Mike McCarthy after the game... didn't know Reid was this intense!

Anywho, to put it lightly, my friends and I absolutely rocked Green Bay's socks off Saturday/Sunday... we lit up Knuckles and the rest of Washington St. like the 4th of July... Golden Tee, beer pong, Irish Car Bombs and so forth...

Then there was tailgating...

Gotta give some props to Packers tailgating... it was straight up ACE!

I will say the "Bears Still Suck" chant was pretty effin' lame... especially since, hmmm, lemme think, we won the damn division... but whatevs... Packers are going to get knocked out Rocky style in Philly next week...

What are da Bearse gonna do? Sit back, relax, and strap it down! Mike Vick is my pick to click next week, you at home go ahead and select yours...
